Dr Giles Plant, NH&MRC R.D. Wright Fellow, Senior Lecturer and Director of the Red's Spinal Cord Research Centre, is a very well-renowned and highly respected scientist in the international field of repair and regeneration of the injured spinal cord. We have been extremely fortunate to benefit from his involvement in the NRP since the Program's inception in 1999. Dr Plant has been a contributing member of the American Paralysis Association research consortium into spinal cord repair and for some years has been involved with national and international efforts to optimise global cooperation and standardisation of protocols to ensure the safe and effective conduct of clinical trials in the field of spinal cord injury (eg. the International Campaign for Curing Paralysis, and as a steering committee member for ANZSCIN, the Australian New Zealand Spinal Cord Injury Network).
Dr Plant's seminar has unfortunately been postponed until 2010 - sorry for any inconvenience.
