Public Seminar on Parkinson's

The Neurotrauma Research Program (NRP) at the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR) will host a public seminar on the reality of living with Parkinson's disease on Monday October 29 at QEII Medical Centre in Nedlands from 5:15pm.

Dr Meghan Thomas, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Edith Cowan University with an adjunct position at the University of Western Australia, will discuss her research which is looking at the role the Pax6 gene plays in Parkinson's.

As well, Ms Karen Rowland of Duncraig, who has lived with Parkinson's for seven years, since age 47, will talk about her experiences and how important it is to continue research into this and other neurological disorders.
